Charlotte's continues a strong surge of residential sales for the month of February posting double digit gains with closings up 27% from a year earlier as reported by the Charlotte Regional Realtors Association. In addition, with January coming in with 40% more closings than a year earlier, this marks 12 continuous months of improvement for the Charlotte market.
Homebuilder Confidence rises to its Highest Level in 5 years according to the National Association of Homebuilders (NAHB). Levels seems to be highest in the Southern U.S. as well as the Midwestern region. Those interviewed attribute the main reasons for the increased housing demand to inexpensive homes as well as incredibly low interest rates.
Charlotte, N.C. named one of the top 10 places in the U.S. to buy a foreclosure as reported in a recent article put out by Realty Trac. Factors included in the analysis looked at average savings on a foreclosure purchase, 1-year and 5-year price appreciation as well as year-over-year employment growth.
